Artist's Comments
Title named after the progressive house track by Derek Howell.
An "experimental" watercolor painting I did for my Color Drawing class. I say experimental because although the subject matter isn't abstract, the technique is very much different for me. Before I started with the watercolors, I stained the paper with coffee, which in turn neutralized the watercolors to a certain degree. I didn't know what effect the coffee stain would have on the colors, so I was quite nervous that it would ruin the painting. The model is my friend Miles, referenced from a photo. Overall I'm satisfied with it, but I don't think I would ever use that same technique again with watercolors. It looks much better in real life....the photo doesn't do it justice. Size is approximately 22"x30". |
